All About Us!
However as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”- the things God has for those who love him – ( 1 Corinthians 2:9, NIV)
What an awesome promise to those who love the Lord! As we begin the new year, I’d like to share a few more scriptures of encouragement cited on Yarnell, Kelsey. “Bible Verses for the New Year.” Web blog post. Tithely.ly. 2022:
Verses about letting go of the past and looking to the future:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Verses about hope for the future:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Verses about strengthening yourself for the future:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
Verses about what to expect for the future:
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
First Baptist family and friends,
With Gods Word in our hearts and our faith, we are moving into an exciting future. Under the dynamic and anointed leadership of our Pastor, Rev. Benny L. Everett, III, we are experiencing a renewal of God’s presence and His power. Rev. Everett is revitalizing the church through fellowship in the House of Worship. If you haven’t felt the change, we invite you to attend one of our Sunday morning services where you will feel love and joy; when you leave you won’t be the same! God has led us in our Bible studies of the “DNA of A Christ Follower” to challenge us: are we being for real? Next were looking at the spiritual life of our church by studying the book, Autopsy of A Deceased Church. Our Sunday School is flourishing, and we’ve added classes since our “Kicking It” Sunday when we reunited with old friends and met new ones. Our ministries are reborn post-covid so if you took a break, it’s time to get started again! During the month of January Rev. Everett will be installing officers at our church and leading us in our State of the Church annual meeting.
Won’t you join us? Every member of the body is unique and necessary! Be sure that we have your cell number so that your name is included in our text messaging. We’ll be sending reminders and updates. See you soon.
May the blessings of the Lord be with each of you.
